Disney College Program Extension Opportunties

The average Disney College Program is 4-6 months in length. A program extension allows you to continue your current program for an added length of time - which means more time to make magic and enjoy everything Disney has to offer!

Participants can extend up to one full year - they cannot stay on a program for longer than 12 consecutive months.

Please be aware that while we do our best to keep this page as up-to-date as possible, all items herein are subject to change. You should always read the job description carefully before applying to anything.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN, HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

SAME ROLE VS. NEW ROLE: Most participants who extend will extend in their same role/location, but there are also some great opportunities to extend in a different role. You may apply for as many extension opportunities as you are interested in.

TIMELINE: Opportunities and application timelines will be communicated via email from DORMS. Everyone will receive communication about opportunities at different times, depending on your arrival/departure date and program type.

ELIGIBILITY: Especially if you are applying for a different role, always make sure to read the job description carefully before applying to ensure you meet eligibility guidelines.

PROGRAM LENGTH: You cannot exceed more than 12 months on any combination of a Disney Internship or Program. When applying, make sure the end date listed on the job description does not pass one year after your program start date.

OPPORTUNITIES:  Opportunities open up depending on business need - in other words, there are no guarantees that all roles listed here will open up every season for applications.

QUALIFICATIONS: When applying for a new role, there may be specific qualifications that must be met. All roles require that you be a current participant, be fully available through the entire length of your program and that you meet transfer guidelines.

FEES: You will be required to pay a non-refundable extension Program Participation Fee upon accepting an extension offer. If you have a vehicle at Flamingo Crossings Village, you will be required to pay a new vehicle decal fee.

Same Role, Same Location Extension

Continue growing your skills in the role you're in today!

When to apply:

Applications will be shared via email from DORMS when it is time to apply. You may receive communication about applying very early in your program or very late - this will depend on your program departure date - so keep an eye out throughout your program.

While most participants who extend in their same role will stay in their current locations, some participants could be transferred to new roles and/or locations, based on operational need.

Character Performer

Communication will be sent to those candidates who may be eligible when auditions are scheduled.

Current performers eligible to extend will receive a separate email with instructions on how to extend their program.

FAQs:

Can I apply to extend AND apply for an internship?
Yes. If your goal is to stay at Disney, we strongly encourage you to apply for a Program extension in addition to applying for an internship, as it’s always a good idea to keep your options open! You can even accept an extension offer, then cancel the extension if you are offered an internship.

Is there a limit to how many internships I can apply for?
There is no limit to the number of internships or College Program extension opportunities you can apply for – but make sure you are selecting roles you are truly interested in and qualified for!

Are Disney Internships available for international participants?
U.S. Work authorization is required for Disney Internship eligibility within the United States. Please visit MyDisneyCareer.com to learn more about international opportunities that may be available within The Walt Disney Company.

Can I apply for an internship if I'm currently on a Disney College Program or my Program extension?
You cannot exceed more than one full calendar year on any combination of a Disney Internship, College Program or Culinary Program. Make sure to read the eligibility requirements carefully to know if you are eligible to apply. Many internship postings also include the date range of the role, so make sure to look out for that to know if the internship would go longer than the 12-month window.
