Chef Lexy’s Path to Pastry Perfection at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
In the bustling culinary landscape of Disney, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, resides Chef Lexy—a passionate Pastry Chef whose career journey within The Walt Disney Company started with the Disney Culinary Program.
Chef Lexy's Disney adventure began in 2010. Starting at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Bakery as a Cook 2, what began as a six-month internship swiftly turned into a full-time commitment to Disney's culinary world.
Moving up the ranks, she transitioned to Disney's BoardWalk Bakery as a Cook 1, refining her skills. Her path then led her to EPCOT, where she worked as an Assistant Sous Chef, gaining valuable experience in different culinary settings within parks and resorts. From there, Chef Lexy moved into a Pastry Sous Chef position before moving into her current role as a Pastry Chef.
Her time in the Disney Culinary Program was instrumental, providing her with not only valuable skills but an appreciation for the diverse cultures embedded within each work environment.
Recognizing the unique dynamics of parks and resorts, Chef Lexy cherishes the lessons learned from both. The program's emphasis on cultural immersion and a nurturing work environment greatly influenced her decision to stay with Disney post-program completion.
As both a mentee and mentor, Chef Lexy has seized numerous opportunities for growth within the company. She believes in giving back by guiding and inspiring aspiring chefs, fostering a supportive community within Disney.
Today, at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Chef Lexy stands as a testament to dedication, passion and the transformative power of the Disney Culinary Program.
