For so many cast members and guests, alike, a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort truly feels like home. And for Jordan, the Director of West Coast Sales, she has been able to grow within the DVC family through her entire ten-year Disney career.

Jordan started her DVC journey as a Guide at Walt Disney World and shortly after, transitioned to Disney Cruise Line. She set sail and traveled the world with guests and current DVC Members. She spent her days sharing how special life as part of the Disney Vacation Club family can be and all the magical memories prospective Members could make with their families.

As her career progressed, and with opportunities for growth and leadership, like being on the opening team of the Villas at Disneyland Hotel, Jordan was promoted to her current role supporting the Disneyland Resort and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa.

Throughout Jordan’s career with DVC, she has been able to learn so many important lessons. “People do not remember what you say, they remember how you made them feel. As a people leader, I’ve come to realize how important culture is over strategy. Culture should have just as much, if not more, of an investment with time and resources as our business strategies get,” Jordan shared. This certainly rings true for the community surrounding Disney Vacation Club. Both guests and cast members prioritize the familial feeling, whether that be at a campground site at Disney’s Fort Wilderness or the Villas at Copper Creek. Disney Vacation Club is here to ensure the feeling of “a home away from home” – and the cast members are a huge part of that, especially the sales team.

As part of the DVC sales team, cast members like Jordan are the first to introduce prospective Members to Disney Vacation Club. Having a sales background is important but adding that Disney touch is what makes this role so unique. “It’s special to see what an impact this product can make on the lives of our Members,” Jordan said, remembering all the magical memories she helped create during her time as a Guide. “Operations is a critical role for our business and the unique part about operating within a sales environment is the need for creative problem solving in addition to cheerful flexibility. No two days are the same, and on this team, the ability to have agility in your operation is a skillset that will serve you very well in future roles.”

Now, Jordan prioritizes her team to promote a strong culture of respect and continuous inspiration every day. “As a leader, I think it starts with listening. Everyone has a story and staying curious and open to those around you will help drive the vibrant culture we all want to be a part of,” she shared, “When it comes to inspiration, I hope that myself and my leadership team walk the walk in a way that makes people want to aspire to be the best version of themselves because excellence is a standard we should all be chasing. When you expect the best for yourself, your team and your guests – it becomes very easy to constantly be looking for ways to improve on how we show up.”
