How Disney Housekeepers Find Magic in the Details
At Walt Disney World Resort, our talented housekeepers help create memorable experiences for our guests. You might catch a friendly smile or a quick wave from one of these dedicated cast members during your resort stay, or you may not see them at all, but the fluffed pillows and fresh towels waiting in your room always let you know they’ve been there.
With over 25 Disney resort hotels and nearly 29,000 rooms on-site, our housekeeping teams play an important role in making every stay feel like home. Sometimes, they’ll even find ways to leave an extra touch of magic, and these small yet impactful gestures create unexpected moments that our guests truly cherish.
Meet Danayra, a housekeeper at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. For Danayra, putting the finishing touches on a room is one of the most enjoyable and creative parts of her job. “I love being part of guests’ vacations,” said Danayra. “Sometimes I hear guests down the hall, shouting with excitement as they enter their refreshed rooms! It’s a beautiful thing that always brings a smile to my face.”
One moment, she might find a collection of toys or Mickey ears and arrange them into a playful scene for guests to discover. Another day, if she knows a family is celebrating a special occasion, she might add a thoughtful surprise, like leaving a personalized button or turning their blanket into a bow to make their return to their room as magical as their time in the parks.
How did Danayra get so good at creating magical moments for our resort guests? She says the real magic comes from teamwork! “My team is always finding new ways to incorporate special touches wherever possible that make our guests feel like family,” she said. “My leaders and fellow housekeepers are constantly sharing tips and tricks that help us bring housekeeping magic to life.”
