Disney College Program recruiters are BACK on campus! Recruiter Savone, Disney Programs Representative Maya and their team might just be visiting your college or university.

Welcome to season three of our miniseries, where we’ll discuss all things about life on the Disney College Program! For more than 40 years, this unique internship experience has brought magic makers to Walt Disney World® Resort from across the country and many participants go on to have lasting careers with The Walt Disney Company.

Savone kicked off her Disney career as a maid at the Haunted Mansion during her Disney College Program and then transitioned to a leadership role at EPCOT through the Disney Hospitality Leadership Program. Now she’s a College & International Programs recruiter and gets to visit campuses across the country. Maya completed her Disney College Program in parking during the Fall 2023 season before transitioning to her current role as one of our new Disney Programs Reps! You can catch her recruiting for Disney Programs at University of Central Florida.

The pair are reminiscing on their programs, giving tips and tricks for future applicants and answering some questions from our social media followers.

ABOUT THE GUESTS:

Savone headshot

Savone James

Savone was born and raised in New Jersey, where she discovered my passion for the theme park hospitality industry. Once she graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in public relations, Savone came down to experience The Disney College Program. While on my Disney College Program in 2017, Savone worked as an attractions host in Adventure Land/Liberty Square. After her college program, Savone went on to participate in the Disney Hospitality Leadership Program, working in Epcot Custodial, and since then, has held various leadership roles in Epcot Park Operations as well as a temporary recruitment assignment. In this role, I am helping change lives by allowing students to experience The Disney College Program, and I hope to inspire our next generation of leaders to keep moving forward!

Maya Rachels

Maya is from Margate, Florida, attending the University of Central Florida to earn a bachelor’s in Digital Media: Game Design and a minor in Creative Writing. Maya first heard of the Disney College Program in high school but applied after learning more about Disney Recruiters on her college campus. During her program, she worked at Magic Kingdom Parking, where her favorite part was spieling on the back of the trams. Maya took advantage of the learning opportunities and earned her Mouseters and Duckorate. After her program ended, she took on a new role as a Disney Programs Representative, where she can inform students on her campus about her experience and why they should apply for the Disney College Program.
