How Disney Traditions Become Magical Destinations: Meet Kyle!

“I do more than just sell timeshares; I sell the happiness, the storytelling, the magic of Disney!”

As a Disney Vacation Club guide at Aulani and a ten-year cast member, Kyle helps families decide if the Disney Vacation Club membership fits their future vacation needs. But most of all, he enjoys supporting guests’ vacation needs in a way only The Walt Disney Company can.

“When I started my career at The Walt Disney Company, I knew that I wanted to create special experiences for guests like those I got to experience as a child,” Kyle said. “Each day brings new opportunities to meet new people and share with them my love of Disney and Disney vacations!”

Kyle first knew he wanted to one day share his love of Disney at 7 years old when Denise, a pilot working the Monorail at Disneyland, welcomed him with open arms and a big smile.

“That personalized attention from Denise made a lasting impression on me,” Kyle said. “When I returned home, I knew that I wanted to be immersed in the happiness I felt at Disneyland…I knew that I wanted to be a cast member and make magic like Denise.”

He emulates that fond memory in his current role by doing what he loves—bonding with guests and Disney Vacation Club members over vacationing and their love of Disney stories. In 2018 and 2022, Kyle received the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring happiness and magic to more guests and cast members when he was selected for the Disney Traditions team at Aulani.

“Through Disney Traditions, I introduced new Aulani cast members to The Walt Disney Company's storied history and shared my knowledge of the company,” Kyle said. “Many of the cast members I welcomed in 2018 and 2022 are still employed at Aulani…it was incredibly gratifying to see my former trainees embodying the principles they learned in Disney Traditions!”

In his day-to-day, Kyle says he often looks after Roy Disney, one of The Walt Disney Company’s founders, for guidance.

“Roy inspires me because he was the one who made Walt’s dreams come true,” Kyle said. “Every day, I ask myself, ‘How can I take this dream of Walt’s and turn it into a reality where every guest and Disney Vacation club member that I meet will make lifelong memories on their Aulani vacation?’”

Teamwork is integral to the work that is done at Disney. For Kyle, he describes his relationship with the small but mighty team at Aulani as “the epitome of teamwork makes the dream work.”

“We are truly ‘ohana’ at Aulani,” Kyle said, “And we have friends and family from all around the resort. We often say aloha to cast members from other departments!”

When asked for advice on applying to Disney, Kyle mentioned the importance of being yourself and putting yourself out there for the role that you want.

“If you are asked to interview, know that you are qualified for the role. Now Disney recruiters want to see how you interact with guests,” Kyle explained. “The Disney brand evokes certain emotions in people; think about how you will create magic for your guests!”
