Unlocking the Magic of Disney Careers at D23 Brazil
History was made earlier this month as D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event was brought to Brazil for the very FIRST time! As part of this fan-favorite event, Disney Careers attended to share the many career opportunities across Brazil and beyond at The Walt Disney Company Latin America.
Attendees were invited to step into the Disney Careers booth to learn more about what it means to be part of the story. Current Disney employees and recruiters welcomed guests, answered questions and shared their own stories of their careers.
“I got to see some of our [International] Program alumni from many years ago,” shared Regina, a recruiter for Disney International Programs. “And now, they are professionals in all sorts of careers. They learned all the Disney transferable skills and are applying them in their future careers. So, seeing them blossom, it’s such an incredible honor to be part of their journey.”
Inside the booth, attendees were surrounded by the magical possibilities of a career at Disney. At the “Wear Your Wish” wall, they were encouraged to take a bracelet, make a wish, and tie three knots around their wrist. According to legend, once the bracelet falls off on its own, the wish will come true!
For Talent Acquisition Marketing Creative Design Coordinator Delaney, designing the booth from the ground up was a wish come true in itself! From collaborating with the team in Brazil to visually displaying the unique journey of each employee’s Disney career, the creative process took months to perfect.
“I sought to bring our recruitment campaign to life beyond the two-dimensional confines of the booth walls. There is something particularly inspiring about recognizing yourself in the stories that others share, and these thoughts ultimately gave rise to placing ‘pillars’ within the booth. Not only would visitors see themselves literally reflected in the face of another, but they also served as representations of the ‘pillars’ of storytelling here at Disney.” Delaney explained her design inspiration. She also added, “As a designer, being able to see my work come to life in a real, physical space – and used as a place for people to gather and share their stories – is extremely fulfilling.”
On the third day of D23 Brazil, Disney Careers took the mainstage with Bianca, Manager of Talent Acquisition sharing a presentation on opportunities in Brazil from early careers programs to professional roles.
“We actually have a lot of opportunities in Brazil. We have different segments, such as entertainment, sports, consumer products, and, of course, corporate. We are a really collaborative team here,” said Bianca.
