Heroes Work Here: Disney Resumes Military Fellowship Program

Heroes Work Here reflects the long history of respect and appreciation Disney has for the U.S. Armed Services. We recognize the commitment and dedication it takes to serve your country and value the leadership skills and sense of purpose it has instilled. As part of our commitment to helping Veterans as they transition from the military back to civilian life, we are excited to announce the return of the Disney Military Fellowship Program

This program offers fellowships across a wide range of Disney roles to active-duty military members during their last 180 days of service. Done in collaboration with the Department of Defense Skillbridge program, Disney is one of many organizations that allow servicemembers preparing to transition out of the military an opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, and internships.

Cast member Dan Grundvig, Manager of Supplier Diversity, was the first participant in the Disney Military Fellowship Program when it began in 2017 as he was retiring from the U.S. Army.

“When I left the military, I was looking for a company that would offer me the same level of satisfaction I had while serving 30 years in military uniform,” said Dan. “I found what I was looking for at Disney, which has the same values, ethics, and teamwork that I enjoyed in the military. I’m enjoying being part of another winning team following my time in uniform.”

The Military Fellowship Program at Disney was paused during the pandemic but recently resumed in Jan. 2022 and is part of Disney’s enduring support for the military personnel and Veterans who have selflessly served their nation in uniform.
