How did you hear about the Disney College Program?

Jimerya, Alcorn State

Disney College Program role: Food and Beverage, Disney’s Pop Century Resort

“I first heard about the Disney College Program through my grandmother, who’s been a cast member for 45 years. I grew up watching how much joy and purpose her work brought her. So, when she introduced me to her manager, who was also a recruiter, it felt like I was being guided toward something bigger than myself. He shared the magic, the opportunities and the impact the program could have on my future. In that moment, everything clicked. It wasn’t just information; it was a spark. That conversation is what inspired me to pursue my own Disney story.”

Gabe, Albany State University

Disney College Program role: Parking Operations, Magic Kingdom

“My favorite memory during the program was attending the Final Bow ceremony. It was such a beautiful and emotional moment. Not only was it my first time ever at Disney, but I also had the opportunity to work for Disney, making it truly the best of both worlds. I even had the chance to take a picture with Mickey Mouse in a cap and gown! Afterward, my friends and I went to the Magic Kingdom to watch the Happily Ever After fireworks together, and in that moment, it truly felt like the most magical place on earth.”

Why is Disney’s commitment to HBCUs and inclusion important to you?

Sydney, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University

“Disney’s commitment to HBCUs and inclusion is really important to me. It’s inspiring to be part of a company that actively supports diversity. It’s also comforting and empowering to work in an environment where you can show up as your authentic self and feel supported. Putting your energy into a company that values and reflects that same energy simply makes the experience so much more meaningful.”

Iyana, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University

Disney College Program role: Merchandise at World of Disney, Disney Springs

“Disney’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in general and among HBCUs is very important to me because I think it’s important to see people who look like you at every place you go. One of the things that I love is that you can see a cast member's hometown, college, and if they speak a different language by simply looking at their name tag. This sparks a conversation with guests who are either from that college, town, or if they’re curious about another country. It also gives opportunities for guests who speak a different language to feel heard and comfortable when coming to Disney because they see someone who can speak their language.”
