2026-28 DET Directing Program – Scripted | Melissa Fisher

We’re excited to share that 2026-28 DET Scripted Program Director, Melissa Fisher, is assigned to shadow and direct on ABC/20th’s WILL TRENT! An award-winning director, writer, and multi-hyphenate in the industry, she is a member of the International Cinematographer’s Guild, with over 15 years of experience on the sets of Academy and Emmy Award-winning films and television series. Melissa graduated from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts with a BFA in Film Production, and is an alum of the AFI DWW. She worked her way up from a camera PA on Michael Bay’s PAIN & GAIN to camera assist on films like Damien Chazelle’s LA LA LAND and FIRST MAN, to eventually running the camera department on hit television shows like GLOW (Netflix) and THE DROPOUT (Hulu). Her experience behind the camera has given her a keen sense for aesthetic visual storytelling. Her most recent short film INSIDE THESE WALLS was chosen as a finalist for the Pandora Short Film Grant.
