Overview
Re-launched in 2019, the Disney Entertainment Television PA Initiative is a candidate pipeline that connects production assistants to opportunities on Disney’s scripted, unscripted, and animated series. We partner with and sponsor specific community organizations around Los Angeles and the U.S. to find/source production assistant talent. Participants in the PA Program have been placed as Office, Set, Writers, Costume/Wardrobe, Post, and Camera PAs on series such as THE DROP: A SNOWFALL SAGA, TRACKER, HIGH POTENTIAL, PARADISE, and more.
About the Program
The Disney Entertainment PA Program is an annual pipeline that connects candidates to production assistant opportunities on DET scripted, unscripted, and animated series. Participants are placed in a “candidate pool” where they will be eligible for consideration and placement on a DET show for the length of the production. Talent is nominated by sponsored community organizations in the Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta areas. The PA Program now includes workshops, set visits, panels, and mixers. The PA Program is an approved Career Based Learning Organization for the California Film Commission and satisfies the Career Readiness Requirement.
Partner Organizations
We partner with six Los Angeles based organizations who provide set/production training and professional development to the PAs prior to their inclusion in the program: Manifest Works, Academy Gold, Ghetto Film School, Group Effort Initiative, CSUN, and LA City College. In Atlanta, we partner with PA Academy. In New York, we partner with Ghetto Film School. In Chicago, we partner with Chicago Filmmakers.
Involvement
To be considered for the PA Program, talent must qualify through our partner organizations and be nominated by the sponsored community organizations:
