Building a Lasting Career with Disney Vacation Club

Behind every enchanting experience you find at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, are cast members fueling the magic. Charles is one of those cast members. As an operations project manager for Disney Vacation Club sales, he oversees all maintenance, planning and project management for the facilities occupied by Disney Vacation Club at Aulani. He also supports the sales process by implementing and maintaining the organization’s internal technology solutions.
Before starting his career at Disney, Charles served in the military for 31 years.
“What I learned in the military, I apply to my role at Aulani, but in a Disney way,” he explains, “The leadership training I’ve received here is amazing. You learn the Disney culture with a lot of pixie dust.”
After 14 years with the Walt Disney Company, Charles has experienced many roles. He started as a driver for Disney Vacation Club, accepted a new role as an operations manager after three years and eventually worked his way up to his current role.

One of his most memorable projects was reimagining Aulani's Disney Vacation Club preview center, Hoku Hideaway. This project helped attract more guests who wanted to learn more about Disney Vacation Club.

Charles cites the culture the cast at Aulani has built as his inspiration for his work.
“The aloha spirit we show one another is amazing. I love seeing everyone smiling and happy when we greet each other backstage and on stage.”
He's also come to enjoy the team environment fostered by Disney Vacation Club. He says, "Working and collaborating with other lines of business at the resort is what makes me successful in my role."
