Happy World Music Day! We’re excited to celebrate by highlighting several Musician opportunities available with Disney Cruise Line. Our crew musicians help create unforgettable storytelling through live performances in lounges, dining experiences and more across our fleet.
Bass
From electric and acoustic to jazz and swing, our Bassists are versatile and skilled with strong sight-reading improvisation abilities.
For Raphael, the most rewarding part is seeing music become part of our guests’ magical experiences, with families singing, dancing, smiling and creating unforgettable vacation moments. “Music allows me to connect emotionally with people, bring joy, create memories, and unite different cultures while expressing myself creatively.”
He loves collaborating with talented musicians from diverse backgrounds, learning from each other and growing together through shared experiences.
Percussion
Our experienced drummers lead bands across genres from classic ‘80s rock to swing to West African drumming traditions.
“What inspires me,” said Troy, “is that sacred moment when music stops being something you play and becomes something you offer. It’s an exchange of energy, of emotion, of truth. I’ve always felt that music is storytelling in its most honest form. It slips past the mind and lands directly in the soul. Whether I was underscoring a powerful moment or holding space for a quiet, intimate beat, I’m thinking about the person out there who needs that moment. Someone who needs to feel seen, to remember, to heal, to celebrate. That’s what keeps me inspired. The idea that a single note, played with intention, can change someone’s day… or even their life.”
Mariachi-Style Musicians
Disney Cruise Line Mariachi-Style Musicians bring Plaza de Coco to life through performances of highly skilled Mariachi standards and songs from the “Coco” soundtrack. They have a strong understanding of various strumming and picking styles for the vihuela, guitarrón and violin as required by different Mariachi and Mexican folkloric genres.
Julián grew up listening to his grandmother singing while cooking, which inspired his passion for performing and continues to inspire every note he plays and sings. For his performances with Disney, he shared, “I enjoy sharing musical culture and connecting with people from around the world. Seeing guests’ emotional reactions make each performance unforgettable.”
“I’m inspired when using music as a universal language to convey emotions and connect with people worldwide,” shared Alvaro. “As a Disney Cruise Line Musician, it’s a transformative and enriching experience that helps you grow as an artist.”
Piano
Our pianists are lively players with a broad repertoire spanning classical to contemporary hits, including Disney songs. Performers can play both solo and alongside other musicians and can participate in events like weddings, live trivia and special gatherings.
“The most rewarding part of my role,” said Keith, “is simply being able to continue doing what I love. After years in the music business, having the opportunity to still perform, sing and connect with people through music is something I truly appreciate and never take for granted. I love bringing soul, emotion and joy to people through piano and vocals, creating moments that make people feel something real.”
Guitar
With both Acoustic and Electric opportunities available, our Guitarists bring a large catalog of music, including popular hits from yesterday and today. Every day offers a variety of opportunities, from lounge and lobby performances in Victrophonics to becoming a pirate in “Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party.”
