When the magic calls, you answer! No one agrees more than former Disney Interns, Agustina, Martin and Valentina, who all secured full-time roles at ESPN Argentina once their internships wrapped up. As they can attest, interns at The Walt Disney Company share the unique opportunity to learn the ropes of the corporate world while gaining hands-on experience and spreading a little pixie dust along the way.

Agustina, Assistant, Content Experience and Operations, ESPN

As an accomplished media and entertainment professional, Agustina started from humble beginnings. Starting her journey as an intern on the Content Experience and Operations team for ESPN Sports Merchandising in 2024, she embodies what it means to work hard and play hard. “During my internship, I had the opportunity to carry out different activities that prepared me for my current role: learning how to organize and prioritize tasks, interpreting metrics, developing visual criteria, working with different teams and being adaptable.”

These qualities helped her advance up the corporate ladder, and in 2025, she became a full-time Assistant on the same team. In her role, she uploads and manages ESPN sports content campaigns on Disney+, focusing on Mexico and Central America. “I also perform platform checks for LATAM, ensuring that the consumer experience is the best possible. Some of the tasks I handle daily include ensuring the artwork for sports events is optimal, making sure the planned strategies for each region are accurate and acting quickly if an event is delayed or suspended,” she explained.

Her secret to success? Fumble a few goals, then brush yourself off and try again. “Don’t be afraid of making mistakes, because that’s part of the process. For many, as it was in my case, it’s the first experience in the corporate world (and in a company of such magnitude), and it’s normal that along the way we make mistakes. Rely on your team members, leaders, and other interns, because they truly support you at this stage. And above all, enjoy and learn as much as you can because it is one of the best places to do so!”

Martin, Marketing Sports Assistant, ESPN

For Martin, his internship taught him the importance of adaptability. Starting as an intern in 2024 and becoming a permanent employee in mid-2025, Martin made the transition from operations to sports marketing. Today, his role is to manage the F1, motorsports, and combat properties, planning strategic marketing campaigns for each race, event and more. “This involves considering the different audiences we communicate with and their interests, seeking new market opportunities, advertising and ideating ways to amplify ESPN's content. I also help manage our team's budget, strategically deciding when and where to invest to maximize the reach of our content,” Martin said.

The skills learned during his time at Disney have taught him the value of learning, growing and always moving forward. “I believe it's essential to be interested in constantly learning at work, seeking opportunities for improvement, asking questions and taking action. Being consistent in your work, having clear goals and pursuing them is crucial.”

Beyond having the talent to back up his growth, the people behind the magic made the biggest difference to Martin’s continued success. “My leaders and colleagues have been incredibly supportive throughout my internship and continue to trust me, give me opportunities and support me whenever I needed it. I received excellent support from both Human Resources and my two teams, which helped make my learning process quick and efficient.”

Valentina, Marketing Sports Coordinator, ESPN

Valentina’s Disney story started with a childhood dream come true. “Disney has always been my dream company because of its unique culture and ability to combine creativity, storytelling and emotional connection in such a powerful way. I wanted to be part of a team that brings meaningful stories to life and creates unforgettable connections with audiences around the world.”

When she started her Disney Internship in 2022 on the Learning and Development team with Human Resources, she knew she was exactly where she was meant to be. Upon completing her internship in 2024, she transitioned into a new role as a Production Assistant with Radio Disney. Today, she oversees the full production of live radio events. “This includes managing every stage of the process, from initial planning and logistics coordination to technical operations and audience experience, ensuring each event is executed successfully from start to finish,” she shared.

Her Disney internship paved the way for her success, giving her the tools to succeed and thrive. “Starting as an intern allowed me to understand the business from the ground up. I gained firsthand experience in a high-performing, collaborative environment and it taught me how to navigate complex projects with professionalism and creativity. Those lessons were essential in shaping my career growth and preparing me for larger responsibilities.” Using these tools, Valentina is now transitioning into a temporary assignment on the Sports Marketing team!

Wondering how you can build your career at Disney? “My advice would be to stay curious, take initiative, and never underestimate the value of building strong relationships.”
