Disney Aspire Welcomes California State University, Fullerton and Fullerton College
Drumroll, please! As a proud Cal State Fullerton alum (Class of ‘88—go Titans!), nothing can possibly make me happier than what I am about to share today. My alma mater—as well as another neighboring school, Fullerton College—are officially part of Disney Aspire.
If you aren’t familiar with Disney Aspire, it’s Disney’s education investment and career development program that offers 100% paid tuition up front for hourly full-time and part-time employees and cast members across a network of schools, now including these two new additions. In California alone, more than 29,500 of our employees are eligible to enroll.
Cal State Fullerton’s motto is “Titan — One who stands for greatness of achievement.” It’s fitting—because I’ve seen firsthand how our Disney Aspire students and graduates are achieving their dreams and changing their lives through this program. More than 13,000 employees are currently enrolled, and 2,600 have already graduated. And about 13% of our graduates have already been promoted internally.
Fullerton College is the oldest community college in the state of California and one of the most successful in the nation. It’s also the number one feeder of transfer students to Cal State Fullerton. In short: I have no doubt we will all be achieving greatness together.
It personally took me seven years to graduate. It was no easy feat — I was working two jobs at the time and worried about getting behind. But with the encouragement of my professors, I did it. I truly feel as if I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my time at CSUF. Being a Titan is just part of who I am — it’s made me a more confident professional, unafraid to take risks and seek out opportunity. And it all came full circle when I was lucky enough to be named a School of Communications Distinguished Alumna back in 2017.
I encourage any eligible employee or cast member in California to explore what these two incredible institutions may be able to offer you and your future. Take it from me. The education I received changed my life — and I have a feeling it may do the same for you, too.
