From PhotoPass to Engineer: Matt’s Disney College Program Story
Matt joined the Disney College Program in Spring 2013 as a PhotoPass Photographer at Magic Kingdom, stepping outside his comfort zone as he lived and worked independently for the first time. Though naturally quiet, he quickly learned to connect with guests, build confidence through conversation and take ownership of creating magical moments. From helping families capture memories to assisting guests at the PhotoPass service counter, Matt developed strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to consistency in every interaction.
The program also taught him the value of community, highlighting the importance of building support systems and learning from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Those lessons helped shape both his personal and professional growth, laying the foundation for a career built on collaboration and continuous learning. Today, Matt is a Data Engineer at Disney Experiences Technology, where he applies the same sense of ownership and dependability he developed during his Disney College Program.
