Show you care on Employee Appreciation Day and beyond!

It’s Employee Appreciation Day, but we appreciate our Disney Programs cast members every day!

At Disney, cast members create magic for guests, so we like to create magic for them too. The magic of appreciation can be big or small, but no matter how it’s done, it always makes a difference.

One example of this took place at Disney’s Boardwalk last fall. Leaders in this area created a little magic and a lasting memory for their Disney Programs participants by organizing a fireworks cruise! Participants were able to enjoy the EPCOT Harmonious Spectacular – one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for Disney Parks – up close and personal in addition to the beautiful sites of the Boardwalk marina.

Then, there are the everyday appreciations that are done on a bit of a smaller scale but still make a huge difference. With #CastCompliment on social media and in the My Disney Experience mobile app, guests can share their appreciation for cast members they interact with while in our parks and resorts. Additionally, they can visit guest relations at any Walt Disney World® Resort park to share appreciation for the exceptional service they receive. But it’s not just for guests! Cast members can send these to other cast members as well.

Emma, a recent Disney College Program participant, was recognized for creating magical moments for guests not once or twice but 12 times while on her Program!

“It always feels good to be recognized by my peers and guests. Anytime I get recognized I am proud of myself. It also helps remind me of challenges I have overcome to progress in my role and that what I do for guests makes a difference,” she says.

Emma continues, “When I visit the parks, I try to do the same for other cast members by using the Cast Compliment feature in the My Disney Experience App or sending them a recognition. Doing this helps me to show my appreciation for the cast members that have made a positive impact on me and my time.”

During her Program, Emma also enjoyed attending Program activities and character meet and greets.

Next time you visit Walt Disney World Resort, create a little magic yourself and take a moment to show your appreciation to the cast members you interact with!

Happy Employee Appreciation Day!
