Renita Lewis is a New York based actor from Birmingham, Alabama who graduated from The Juilliard School this spring. Her first dream was to become the first woman in the NBA, a goal that led her to play Division II collegiate basketball before discovering that her true home would extend to stages beyond the court. Though performance has long been at the heart of her artistic life, her creative practice also extends to writing, directing, and theatre making. In her next life, however, she's fairly certain she'll come back as a willow tree. Beyond the love of storytelling and transformation, this experience reminded her of the powerful alchemy that emerges when a group of people united by a shared vision come together to create something greater than themselves. She will always cherish the artists, collaborators, and the community that made this journey so meaningful.
