For the past 30+ years, Disney’s Writing and Directing Programs have served as a launching pad for hundreds of working television writers and directors, including many of the entertainment industry’s most successful showrunners, producers, and episodic directors. As a result of many decades of support, collaboration, and partnership with Disney’s creative executives, showrunners, producers, and senior leaders, these flagship programs have become the Company’s primary resource for identifying and hiring emerging, diverse staff writers and episodic directors on Disney’s scripted and unscripted series.

Disney Entertainment Television (DET) today announced the newest participants selected for its 2025-2026 Directing Program and 2026 Writing Program. Designed to champion emerging creative talent, the initiatives provide access to episodic television opportunities through mentorship, hands-on experience and direct engagement with the creative process spanning DET’s scripted and unscripted slate.
