Will the Disneyland College Program help me land my dream job at Disney?

We’re a month away from 2020, and we have so much to be thankful for. Our fall 2019 Disneyland® Resort participants are getting ready for the busy holiday season and have some big questions to answer before their final departure. In fact, you probably have a similar question as you think about an internship at Disney: what comes next after the Disney College Program?

The reality is that most of our participants want to use their internship as a springboard into a career with The Walt Disney Company. You have five to eight months at Disneyland Resort, so why not make the most of it, right? Absolutely!

One thing to keep in mind is successfully completing the Disney College Program does not guarantee future employment, such as a job or another internship. However, we’ll do everything we can to set you up for success and help you prepare for your career after the program.

Every season, we host educational offerings to help you with your resume, cover letter, and networking skills. We even host a workshop to give you tips on how to ace an interview, which includes mock interviews. We hold special networking opportunities every month where you can meet with executives and leaders from all over The Walt Disney Company, including Professional Interns, and ask them questions about their job and career path.

One of my favorite things about the Disneyland College Program is that we know how important it is for you to further your career with the company, and we do everything we can to make that possible. Toward the end of every program, our scheduling team visits with everyone and walks you through all of the current job opportunities at Disneyland and lets each participant share their interest in those roles.

If you love your role and location and would love to stay, you can indicate you’re interested in staying on and we can help make that dream come true! Full or part time, or even seasonal, we’ve got you covered. Just keep in mind, a lot of that depends on availability and how hard you work throughout your internship. We provide the opportunities, but it’s up to you to work hard during your internship and make it happen.

You can also apply for a Disney Professional Internship and have a hands-on experience learning from some of the most talented people in your respected field. Remember, if you participate in the Disneyland College Program, that doesn’t guarantee that you’ll receive a Professional Internship after your program, but you’ll have plenty of opportunities to network with leaders in that area, including their current Professional Intern. In fact, you may even live down the hall from them in our housing complex!

If you’re joining us in January for our spring season, start thinking ahead about what you want to do after your program. That way, you’ll have plenty of time to network while you’re here and you can take every possible step along the way to turn your internship into a professional career. Just don’t forget, we’ll provide you plenty of amazing opportunities, but it’s up to you take advantage of them and set yourself up for success.
