A guide to packing for your Disney Program, as told by Mary Poppins
It’s an exciting time for Disney Internships and Programs as it is arrival season for our new spring 2019 participants! If you are going to be making the journey to your new Disney home soon and are finding yourself in a packing rut, have no fear. With Mary Poppins recently making her way back on the silver screen in “Mary Poppins Returns”, what better way to help you finish up your packing than with some inspiration from the “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” woman herself!
“In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun.”
Though packing can be looked at as a chore, it does not have to be! Inject a little fun in your packing. Put on your favorite Disney playlist, dance around your room while you gather your things and get excited because you are going to be working for The Walt Disney Company!
“Today or never. That’s my motto.”
It may be easy to put off packing until the last minute, but the quicker you finish, the more time you will have to think about every tasty Disney snack that you can try or the thrills that you can experience when you begin going to the parks. Packing can be stressful. You may be thinking, “How many pairs of shoes will I need? Do I need that random thing that I never use, but may have use for at some point?” Take a deep breath, take a moment to rest and regroup. Write a list to visualize everything that you need to bring with you and go from there!
“Nothing’s gone forever, only out of place.”
It is so easy to misplace something during the packing process. If you lost something while packing, no worries! You will have plenty of time to pick up any essentials you may need before you begin working. In Florida, We have a convenience store called the Grid, located at The Commons, where you can pick up basic necessities and food items. We also have a leisure bus route that specifically visits a variety of different stores where you can purchase anything you may have forgotten!

With your Disney Program starting soon, there are so many opportunities that will come about! Whether you take advantage of the free park admission, attend some of the many learning seminars provided by the Disney Education Team or network with Disney cast members working in your dream location, the possibilities are seemingly endless!
