Meet Gabbie and Abby, two current Disney College Program participants! Hear about what inspired them to apply for their programs, what arrival week is like and how they feel the program is positively impacting their professional development.

Welcome to season four of our miniseries, where we’ll discuss all things about life on the Disney College Program! For more than 40 years, this unique internship experience has brought magic makers to Walt Disney World® Resort from across the country and many participants go on to have lasting careers with The Walt Disney Company.

Gabbie works in merchandise around the World Showcase in EPCOT but loves picking up shifts all around Walt Disney World Resort. Abby works in custodial at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and loves the freedom and guest interaction her role brings.

Abby is a junior Public Relations major at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is thrilled to be participating in her first Disney College Program, where she currently brings magic to life as a resort custodian—a role for which she is incredibly grateful. This experience has been transformative for Abby, helping her grow both professionally and personally. She has learned the importance of embracing creativity and the impact a big imagination can have on herself and her career. After the program, Abby will return to Belmont to complete her degree, carrying the memories and skills gained through this incredible journey that will benefit her for a lifetime.

Gabrielle Broughton, from Buford, Georgia, graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design. She first became interested in the Disney College Program after hearing a classmate’s inspiring stories about it. Drawn by Disney's magic, she joined the program and found joy in creating memorable experiences for guests each day. Recently, Gabrielle earned trainer status at the Art of Disney Store, marking a proud achievement in her Disney journey.

She describes her time in the program as filled with unforgettable moments and friendships that have made the experience truly meaningful. Grateful for all she has learned, Gabrielle looks forward to continuing her Disney journey and hopes to pursue a Disney Internship. As she approaches the completion of her College Program, she is excited for the rewarding milestone it represents and looks ahead to carrying all she’s gained into the next steps of her career, creating even more magic along the way.
