A Career Developed Through the Lens
Before organizing social media content calendars, creating catchy captions and brainstorming trendy videos, there was a girl with a camera and a dream just beginning to take shape.
From a young age, Miranda knew she wanted to be a part of the magic that she experienced while visiting Walt Disney World Resort with her family every year. “I knew the joy of being in the parks and that unique feeling you get when you drive under the Walt Disney World arch,” she shares. “My family had heard about the Disney College Program from some friends, and I was on board from the very beginning.”
Miranda began her Disney journey on the Disney College Program in 2022, where she worked as a PhotoPass photographer in Magic Kingdom Park. When she learned about her role, she was brought back to her childhood nostalgia. “I remembered the times we would stop in the parks as kids and take photos with those photographers; many of them ended up in frames scattered throughout my childhood home,” Miranda says. “I was excited to be able to create those same memories for people all around the world.”
Miranda’s role not only allowed her to build her skillset in photography and grow her passion for the art, but also taught her how to tell a story in just a few photos, creating those same unforgettable magic moments for Guests. “Throughout my program, I had the chance to be a part of many big life moments for people I’d never met,” she shares. “Capturing engagements, gender reveals and large announcements were all part of my daily responsibilities as a photographer.”
This role also allowed Miranda to connect with other photographers and learn from them, all while building friendships. “To be surrounded by kind, encouraging people like my coordinator, Gio, changed the way I looked at my career,” Miranda explains. “I knew I wanted that sense of community wherever I worked.” That feeling became something she carried with her even after finishing her Disney College Program.
After returning to Belmont University to finish school, Miranda always knew she wanted to find her way back to the magic. “My college program changed my life,” Miranda says. “Walking into the workplace knowing you will be treated with respect is one of the main reasons that brought me back.” With new skills and experiences under her belt, Miranda returned to the Walt Disney Company in 2025 as the Digital Content Intern for Disney Programs.
It was a full circle moment in her career, allowing her to give back to the experience that started it all. “In my current role, I’m able to create and manage engaging social media content to showcase Disney Programs to our audience of over 1.7 million,” she explains. “I help lead production planning, shoots and editing while adhering to tight production deadlines and ensuring brand consistency and quality.” This role has taught Miranda about what it means to capture the Disney Programs experience through the participants’ eyes.
Miranda often looks back to her own program experience for inspiration. “Understanding the Disney Programs experience as a participant firsthand was essential in telling that story through content to share with the world,” she shares. Saying yes to every opportunity that has crossed her path along the way has allowed her to diversify her portfolio and learn something from every experience.
While she knows every participant has their own unique career goals, Miranda reflects on how each step of her journey led her to her role as the Disney Programs Digital Content Intern. She’s passionate about sharing advice with participants who aspire to follow in her footsteps. “I would advise them to make inclusivity the foundation of their work,” she shares. “When this happens, storytelling becomes an enriching process that highlights different perspectives in honest, meaningful ways.”
Miranda’s journey with Disney Programs has come full circle, proving that when passion meets purpose, every step can lead to something magical.
