Mónica Rivera is a media leader with 20+ years of experience in domestic and international sports production and operations. A first-generation Honduran American raised between Progreso, Honduras, and Brooklyn, NY, she is committed to fostering belonging and opportunity in sports media. She spent 12 years at ESPN International & Deportes, rising from Production Assistant to Producer and helping shape Spanish-language content that elevates multicultural representation across global platforms.

An Emmy Award-winning producer and seven-time nominee, Mónica has contributed to flagship programming including SportsCenter. Her work has been recognized for international live events and domestic studio productions, with honors spanning coverage of the NBA Finals, Monday Night Football desde México, and innovative college football “Megacast” broadcasts.

As Senior Manager of the ESPN NEXT program, Mónica leads career development for emerging talent across linear and digital platforms. She oversees workforce strategy, performance management, and talent mobility while partnering with senior leadership and HR to support organizational growth. Known for her mentorship and culture-building, she champions inclusive environments, mental health awareness, and the next generation of diverse sports storytellers.
