What is ESPN NEXT?
ESPN NEXT is our full-time early career development program for Production Assistants and Content Associates. We hire, train, and develop early-career talent working behind the scenes across global studio shows, live events, digital, social, and emerging platforms. Through structured training, hands-on production assignments, and ongoing development, we prepare early-career professionals for content roles across ESPN.
Our Approach

ESPN NEXT is Born
ESPN NEXT welcomes the first cohort of twenty-one Production Assistants, officially launching the program and opening a new chapter in developing the next generation of sports storytellers.
September 2023
Social and Digital Expansion
ESPN NEXT relaunches with a bold expansion into social and digital platforms, aligning with the future of sports media. Since this relaunch, Production Assistants and Content Associates have played a direct role in innovative content projects such as SC+ and SportsCenter For You.
January 2024
Accelerator Class Kicks Off
The inaugural Accelerator class begins its journey, marking the launch of a selective leadership program centered on individualized career development.
