Working with Minors

The health and safety of all employees is always a priority, but we owe a special standard of care to younger cast and crew members. When we bring minors (under age 18) into the workplace, we need to be aware of the environmental conditions (such as heat or special effects smoke), the activities we are asking them to do, and the stress they may experience while performing for the camera.

Even common actions such as swimming or riding a bicycle should be reviewed with Disney Production Safety and Risk Management prior to filming. Minors should not participate in any activity which would typically be considered a “stunt.” If there is some doubt as to what constitutes a “stunt,” contact Production Safety for further guidance.

In addition, you can refer to “Special Procedures for Minors Performing Physical Activities,” (https://www.csatf.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Guideline001.MINORS.pdf) on the Contract Services website at www.csatf.org under “Safety Bulletins.”
