With beaches, beautiful temples and elephant sanctuaries, Thailand has become a must visit travel destination for Disney English Foreign Trainers. My days in Thailand were filled with boats, beaches, bejeweled temples and some really big Buddhas. Whether it’s your first time heading to the Land of Smiles or you are looking for new places to explore, here are some ideas for your next adventure!
Bling in Bangkok
Due to the centrally located attractions, Bangkok was a very easy city to navigate. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Pho, the Giant Swing and Wat Arun Ferry Pier are all a leisurely walk away.
Wat Phra Kaew, or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha as it’s known in English, has amazing golden buildings and a Buddha made entirely from a single block of jade. Another short walk away is Wat Pho, or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, which has an incredible 46-meter-long Buddha covered in gold leaf.
The Giant Swing, although not an actual swing, is a landmark that is difficult to miss while strolling along to The Grand Palace.
A short ferry ride to the Wat Arun Pier leads you to a spectacular temple with views and culture to enjoy. Wat Arun Pier’s highly embellished walls make it both a perfect spot for pictures and cultural appreciation.
Playing around in Phuket
After a short plane ride to Phuket, my trip in Thailand continued with a visit to the Phuket Big Buddha, Patong Beach, and the Phi Phi Islands. The tuk tuk ride up the hill to the Big Buddha allowed me the opportunity to see the city from all sorts of vantage points. Afterwards, relaxing around Patong Beach was the right kind of winding down at the end of the day. For the more laid-back traveler, Patong is a great place to explore with its idyllic beaches, local markets and street foods all around.
A boat tour around the Phi Phi Islands was possibly the best part of the trip. Swimming in crystal clear waters, light fish watching, and ocean views that will never be forgotten was a great way to close my epic chapter in Thailand!
A trip to Thailand is a must for Disney English Foreign Trainers. Known for its tropical beaches, opulent royal palaces, ancient ruins and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha, there’s something for everyone in Thailand, from the adventurous to easygoing traveler. Take the time and travel to Thailand!
